New CarShare Location in Lafayette!

Boulder County, CO. – Boulder County Mobility for All, Boulder County Housing and Human Services (BCDHHS), and Colorado CarShare are excited to announce the launch of a pilot carshare program in Lafayette.

The new CarShare vehicle is located at the Aspinwall development in Josephine Commons, off Burlington Avenue. The program will support an inclusive, multi-generational community development to help meet the region’s growing demand for accessible and connected transit serving neighborhoods of affordable homes. The new carshare service will complement existing transit at the Josephine Commons in Lafayette. The community of 153 housing units includes apartment style housing for seniors and multifamily rental units for mixed income families.

The pilot car share program, which is currently funded by Boulder County, is expected to continue into next year, with the hope that funding can be secured to provide a shared electric vehicle (EV) with a charging station that may be available for both Colorado CarShare members and local residents. The initiative will include free carshare credits and deeply discounted membership and rates to residents of Josephine Commons. This initiative is complemented by similar carshare programs in downtown Longmont and at the Kestrel apartments in Louisville. Both of which are also supported by Boulder County, as well as Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)’s Transportation Demand Management Innovation Grant Program.

Our awesome 2020 Toyota Tacoma pick-up trucks can fit all of your yard clippings in a spacious truck bed! Want to take your family or friends skiing in the mountains or camping in the desert, but don’t have access to an all-wheel drive vehicle to do so? We can help!

Rent one of our Toyota RAV-4s, Subaru Outbacks, or Volkswagen Tiguans. In addition to all-wheel drive, we got you covered with bike racks and ski racks, 5 seats with folding back seats, and plenty of room in the trunk to fit camping gear! Not to mention, our Rav4 SUVs are hybrids, so you’ll be driving cleaner and greener into the mountains!

Colorado CarShare trucks and AWD vehicles are conveniently located all around the Denver-Boulder metro area. Our Tacoma pick-up trucks are equipped with four-wheel drive, folding rear seats and have a bike tailgate rack/bag option. And right now, they even are fitted with winter tires, perfect for spring skiing trips to the mountains.

Not only are our trucks and all-wheel drive vehicles spacious and durable, they are also super affordable. We cover all gas, insurance, and regular maintenance, so you can buy that extra lift ticket or camping chair!

We are also still offering our incredibly affordable Weekly Rate Plan! Rent a CarShare vehicle for a week and pay a flat rate of $297* or $363* for trucks or AWD vehicles. Gas, insurance, and the first 250 miles are on us! If you are a regular day-plus user, consider joining our Simply Hourly  plan, which includes 100 miles for the first full day.

eGo CarShare – Colorado’s first and only non-profit carsharing org in Boulder County and Denver – is very proud to announce our new partnership with Boulder Chamber! This includes adding our newest carshare location onsite in the Chamber’s parking lot at Walnut and Folsom!

A business eGo CarShare (www.carshare.org) membership replaces the need of managing an in-house fleet or reimbursing employees for parking, mileage and gas. With business and nonprofit rates as low as $4/hour and $0.33/mile, we are also offering a special $75 in driving credit for Boulder Chamber members. Extremely affordable and convenient, your business can also say goodbye to the rising costs of gas, insurance, maintenance and a parking spot. They’re all on us!

Membership allows access to cars 24 hours a day to our fleet of 50+ fuel efficient and specialty vehicles, for as little as 15 minutes at a time. Just make a booking online, use your personal key fob to unlock the car and return it to the same location when you’re done.

Our fleet of strategically placed vehicles around town, near bus stops and close to B-Cycle stations will allow your employees and member businesses to maximize their transportation options while saving money, mitigating traffic and supporting a cleaner environment. On a yearly basis, each carshare vehicle in service:

  • Replaces approximately 15 personally owned vehicles
  • Reduces an estimated 150,000 vehicle miles travelled (VMT)

As a part of our commitment to an alternative and more affordable “multi-modal” approach to travelling, Roll Colorado provides education and offers, bringing together bike sharing, car sharing and public transit, making it even more affordable and convenient to be trip smart.
