Lissa Myers has over 15 years’ experience in the transportation planning field with a focus on advocating for, planning, designing and implementing alternative modes of transportation at the campus, local and regional level. Her areas of expertise include rail and bus transit services, bicycle and pedestrian facilities and alternative working strategies (telework and compressed work weeks) to promote sustainability and offer travel choices that improve the efficiency of and reduce impacts from transportation systems. Lissa has worked in the private, non-profit and public sectors managing various projects including preparing NEPA environmental studies for proposed infrastructure, designing and implementing alternative transportation facilities and programs for employers, and advocating on behalf of stakeholders for transportation improvements with regional, state and federal transportation decision makers. For the last seven years Lissa has been managing the design and implementation of sustainability strategies at the NREL Campus that maximize the benefits of the research conducted at the lab, improve resiliency and reduce environmental impact of doing business. Lissa holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Urban Planning from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Denver.
